OAISTER ( is an initiative of the Michigan Digital Library Production Service that aims to create a cross-institutional archive of scholarly electronic resources that are freely available. To date, more than 700 institutions worlwide participate in this project which houses around 10 million records including online journals, e-books, reference texts, audio files and images. Searches can be made by institution and academic subject, including museum studies and related disciplines.
