Company History
Re:discovery Software, inc. developed their first collections management system prototype in 1988, designed by software engineer David Edwards. Edwards was assisting a few museums and archaeological sites by creating a customized collections management system to suit their needs. In the end, the functionality was purely based on what the end-users requested and they were very pleased. Edwards wanted to do more with the software, and hired museum professionals, archivists, and software engineers so that together, in partnership, this staff could design and produce systems that would truly serve the needs of the end-user, be technologically advanced, and in-line museum industry standards. They succeeded and began earning many clients, including the National Park Service, with more than 300 sites. In 2009, the Department of the Interior joined the National Park Service in using Re:discovery's products and services. The company continuously upgrades their systems, taking advantage of new technology and implementing features and tools to make their user's experience of using the software as easy and seamless as possible.
